Learning Disabilities (3 hours or 6 hours):

Aims: This course is designed to provide the learners with a better understanding of the most common types of learning disabilities (LD's). The course can also be bespoke to a particular learning disability or a range LD's. Learners will be required to complete a range of activities during the session.

Objectives:

Identify the different types of LD's
Examine the effects of discrimination on people with LD's.
Discuss how communicating with severe LD's may presents challenges.
Differentiate between learning disability and learning difficulty.
Explain how to employ an approach that is person centred to improve the quality of life for someone with LD's.
