Emergency Frist Aid at Work

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is for the participant to attain knowledge and practical competencies required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations. This course provides participants with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to provide appropriate care and manage life-threatening conditions, minor illness and injuries. Participants will have the knowledge and skills required to provide Emergency First Aid in an occupational setting in a prompt, safe and effective manner to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid Regulations.

COURSE CONTENT:

By the end of the course, participants will:

  1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider

  2. Be able to assess an incident

  3. Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty

  4. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking

  5. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding

  6. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock

  7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries​

Assessment and Certification:

Participants will be expected to take part in practical activities in which their competence will be assessed. An end assessment will be completed by participants and on successful completion, an in-house certificate of attendance will be awarded.
