Resource of the Week (OneTab) (#1)

March 27, 2019

Every week North Care Training will be posting a useful resource that can benefit anyone. the first resource I would like to start with will be very useful for people (like myself) who look at many webpages and intentionally leave these tabs open as they have some importance. Tabs are useful to allow us to access information later without the need to add each webpage to our favourites (reading list). Having 5 tabs open is reasonable and should not seriously impact on our organisation and research ability. However, if 10 or more tabs are open; the tabs may make a research experience more difficult to manage and relevant information becomes lost in our ever increasing tab bar it may also affect a computer's CPU performance.

But fear not, the 'Onetab' is here to help us in our hour of need:

If to many tabs, click the OneTab icon to convert all of your tabs into a list.

When you need to access the tabs again, you can either restore them individually or all at once.

If tabs are in the OneTab list,  95% of memory can be saved as the number of tabs open in Google Chrome can easily get out of hand and difficult for the computer and the user to handle.

Privacy assurance: all Information is never transmitted or disclosed to the OneTab developers. The only exception to this is if you intentionally click on our 'share as a web page' feature that allows the list of tabs into a web page in order to share them with others.

Tabs are never shared unless you specifically use the 'share as a web page' button. Additional Benefits Depending on how many scripts are running inside your tabs, moving them to OneTab can also speed up your computer by reducing the CPU load this may also contribute a user by  resuming from sleep more quickly.
